Studio A
Studio A is In Your Ear’s largest recording space, and one of largest sound studios and streaming facilities in the Mid-Atlantic area! It’s perfect for bands or small chamber groups, as well as small intimate concerts. Studio A is where Shockoe Records streams their Shockoe Sessions Live! performances every Tuesday night, and where WNRN’s Richmond In-Studio Sessions are performed for NPR. Musically the studio features an amazingly voiced Young Chang grand piano, Hammond A100 and Leslie as well as multiple drum sets from Gretch, Slingerland, and numerous vintage guitars and amps that can be used for your next music project. We use the latest versions of AVID ProTools, Cubase/Nuendo, and Wavelab (CD mastering), or you can plug into our Dante system and record your session onto your own computer.
The Studio A streaming system is centered around the powerful Newtek Tricaster, Internet streamer/switcher and a host of 4K Panasonic broadcast cameras, 4K JVC and POV cameras from Bird Dog and AIDA, Whether its recording, mixing, mastering or streaming, we got you covered.
Studio A is also set up for film makers too! The raw space is large enough to accommodate a small crew, enough stable power for lights and cameras, and a networked monitoring system so everyone on the crew can see the action. And for post-production, we can help you there too! With one of the first 5.1 mixing setups on the East Coast, IYE can mix your film in surround sound or stereo, as well make sure your film project meets broadcast or streaming standards. We have access to thousands of Sound FX in our collection, as well as foley pits and a Foley Artist on staff. We work to make your film to sound great!
